Carlyle shuffles Asia PE team

Janine Feng, the Hong Kong-based managing director of Carlyle's Asian buyout business, will be promoted to vice chairman of Asia Pacific ex-Japan, according to reports. Since joining Carlyle in 1998, Feng has led a number of important investments in Carlyle Asia M&A Fund, including China Pacific Insurance, Zhejiang New Century Hotel, Haier Appliance, Focus Media and Shanghai Minimally Innovative Medical.

 

Meanwhile, Ling Yang, a Shanghai-based managing director and co-head of the group's healthcare business in Asia, has been appointed head of China. Yang first joined Carlyle's M&A team in the US, and then joined Carlyle Asia in 2011, where she was responsible for private equity investments in China's healthcare, consumer, retail and financial services sectors.
