Susan Chan takes over as Head of Asia Pacific at BlackRock

BlackRock announced the appointment of Susan Chan as Head of Greater China on January 13, 2024, along with the appointment of Andrew Landman and Hiroyuki Shimizu as deputy Heads of Asia Pacific. Susan Chan replaces Rachel Lord, who is relocating to London as head of BlackRock's international business.

 

Based in Hong Kong, Susan Chan will lead the Asia Pacific business and manage the overall development of the business, clients, investment team and operating platform to provide wealth and institutional investors with BlackRock's investment solutions including active investing, index investing, ETF products, alternative investing and technology solutions.

 

Susan Chan has over 30 years of extensive experience in the financial services and asset management industry, having held various leadership positions across capital markets, trading, investment and client operations. She has been with BlackRock for more than 10 years and led the ETF and index investment business, managed the trading, liquidity and securities lending teams, ran the sustainability and transformation solutions team, and led the development of BlackRock's onshore business in China.
