HSBC Investment Management announced the appointment of Michael Cross as chief investment officer for Asia Pacific, replacing Cecilia Chan, who has retired.
Cross will be based in Hong Kong and report directly to Daisy Ho, chief executive for Asia Pacific and Hong Kong, and will continue to report to Xavier Baraton, global chief investment officer. In the meantime, Cross will continue in his role as investment director of global fixed income.
In his new role, Cross will lead HSBC Investment Management's investment business in Asia, leading a senior team of more than 180 professionals and managing more than $200 billion in assets.
