The Council of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) has elected its first council under the new election system.
LEUNG Sze Kit, Roy, partner and Head of Public Affairs of KPMG in Hong Kong, was appointed as the new chairman, while AU Chun Hing, Edward and LAW Cheuk Kin, Stephen, JP were elected as vice chairmen for a term of one year.
Roy Leung, who has served on the Council for six years, said he would continue to lead the association in fulfilling its statutory responsibility to develop the accounting profession in Hong Kong and maintain the standards of the accounting profession in order to strengthen Hong Kong as an international financial center.
